This is the year 2,152, represented by the Wood Snake.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>15 days after the new year<\/strong>, we have the <strong>sacred period of Ch\u00f6trul D\u00fcchen<\/strong>, which commemorates the occasion on which Buddha Shakyamuni manifested a miracle a day for fifteen days, with the motivation of inspiring faith in his followers.<\/p>\n<p>The culmination of this period is the <strong>first full moon of the Tibetan lunar year<\/strong>, this time to be celebrated on <strong>March 14.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this very special period, <strong>the effects of our actions, both virtuous and non-virtuous, are multiplied millions of times.<\/strong> During this powerful time of multiplicity, our practice and virtue have the potential to amplify even further, creating excellent conditions for bringing benefits to ourselves and all beings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #d14d42;\">Read more<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The word Losar is a Tibetan word for the new year. LO means year and SAR, new. The Tibetan New Year is celebrated on the first day of the first month of the Tibetan lunar calendar, which usually falls in January or February, although it can also occur in March.<\/p>\n<p>On the eve of Losar, although it is not a Buddhist tradition, it is customary among Tibetans to carry out a general cleanse of the home, closets and personal practice environment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #d14d42;\">Strengthen your practice<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Take advantage of this auspicious time when actions are multiplied thousands of times and include virtuous actions in your routine. We all know that taking the life of a being is a very bad thing, contrary to ethics. Conversely, saving a life is a virtuous act of extreme significance.
