SUMMARY:End of Year Retreat
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css=".vc_custom_1558129874598{padding-right: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}"][vc_column][vc_column_text]To take advantage of the end of year break\, Odsal Ling will remain open from December 26 to January 1 for those wishing to do a meditation practice retreat. It will be a time when participants will be able to deepen their personal practice\, whether the accumulation of Jetsun prayers\, Ngöndro\, Red Tara etc. Participants should have some familiarity with their practice\, as during this period there will be brief teachings with Lama Tsering. \nOn New Year's Eve (12/31)\, we will have the traditional lamp offering ceremony at 11pm\, followed by the practice of Red Tara. We then perform three prostrations\, as a sign of respect. \n- Please do not point your feet at statues\, lamas and sacred objects. \n- Please do step over sacred texts\, practice objects or benches. \n- Please do not place texts directly on the floor \n- Sacred texts are lent for use during meditation practices only and are not to be taken home or copied without the permission of the temple. \n- It is not considered auspicious to step over the sacred texts or the benches used as practice tables. \n- Please do not use another person's practice objects without prior authorization. \n- If you find an object that does not belong to you\, please deliver it to the office (located on the mezzanine of the dining hall).
